roy looks like he knows a secret.

he also looks like rick from "the young ones."

central park row boat

i bought this strange little camera
that had four lenses and took four pictures over the course of about one second. the results were mixed. the concept is very cool and would be a great digital camera concept.

central park ducklings at feeding time

scary gorilla outside tavern on the green in central park
it might be hard to see, but this dude is playing two trumpets at once. central park was full of musicians and most seemed to have a good audience and they were all making decent tips.

i want to run away from home and do this someday.

central park is full of amazing entertainers like this guy.
he was dancing the whole time he played violin and his body was perfectly sculpted. funny thing is that a year or so ago i saw this guy's picture and interview in a major national publication and instanly remembered him.

forever

john lennon's heart, soul and spirit still live in central park
i don't remember the water looking this green, but I like it.
the photo doesn't do it justice, but this billboard had actual furniture vertically attached to it and was set up just like a tiny manhattan studio apartment.

you can see the time sequence. for some reason one of these four pictures would have a weird light leak. still it makes for an interesting shot. this was the busiest part of central park.
central park bust sculpture of guiseppe mazzini

GIUSEPPE MAZZINI, (1805-1872) Italian nationalist and patriot, who, together with Giuseppe Garibaldi, Camillo Benso di Cavour, and Victor Emmanuel II, is considered one of the "patron saints" of the Italian Risorgimento (or unity). While still in his teens Mazzini committed himself to the cause of Italian independence and unity. Forced into exile in 1831 for his revolutionary activities, he began to recruit followers and organize uprisings against the rulers of the various Italian states.

harlequin great dane

while in central park i saw a great dane that looked a whole lot like my beloved pup Andi. this woman thought i was a freak for taking pictures of the dog, but that didn't stop me.

okay, so i was stalking this dog.

it wasn't in any kind of harmful way.

i just couldn't get over how much he looks like pups.

central park business.

no telling how many languages we heard the day we were there.

as we were leaving roy realized that we had passed the actor who played norm gunderson in "fargo". his name is john carroll lynch. roy has always been the expert at picking people of a crowd. i will never forget the night we were at the nick in birmingham when he recognized the lead singer of the fleshtones sitting at the bar.

cool post cards

everyplace we went there were cool free postcards. the one with the pig was from a restaurant/bar called the florent that was excellent. it is located in the meat packing district and that makes the post card even better.
